South City International School
The University of Cambridge International system for Primary and Upper Primary school education seamlessly integrates with the curricula provided by the CISCE (Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations). This integration is in strict accordance with the guidelines set forth in the esteemed NEP (National Education Policy) of 2020.
In addition to fostering the systematic development of linguistic, mathematical, and experiential skills, the curriculum for Primary and Secondary education is thoughtfully crafted to facilitate cross-curricular learning, transcending rigid boundaries between subjects. It embraces a comprehensive approach that seamlessly integrates curricular and extracurricular activities, with a particular emphasis on Technology, Art, Music, and Sports. This approach ensures a holistic learning experience for students.
Our school has consistently maintained an all-inclusive approach, valuing diversity and embracing students of various abilities. We remain dedicated to our ongoing efforts in creating equal opportunities for all children, regardless of their individual capabilities.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by South City International School and Alliance Francaise du Bengale on 13 April, 2021 for the implementation and the initiation of the DELF courses and the examinations at South City International School, Kolkata.
DELF, a Diploma in the French Language is a certification of French-language abilities for non-native speakers of French administered by the International Center for French Studies (Centre international d’etudes pedagogiques or CIEP) for France’s Ministry of Education. The course at school would help the students in a successful career ahead.
South City International School also equips students with the necessary skills for Cambridge English Qualification, specifically the Young Learners Exams (YLE) and Key English Test (KET). The Young Learners Exams are comprehensive assessments designed to make English learning enjoyable, effective, and rewarding. They aim to instill confidence in young learners, enabling them to effectively communicate and access a lifetime of enriching experiences and opportunities. The Young Learner's Program consists of three levels - Starters, Movers, and Flyers - catering to students in Grades 1-5. With a unique approach, YLE encourages continuous progression and provides a clear pathway for enhancing language skills. Each qualification aligns with a level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), allowing learners to develop their Reading & Writing, Speaking, and Listening skills. This international benchmark provides a reliable and consistent measure of a child's progress.
